COLTAINE is the keyword to an adventure in sound.
Formed in 2022 in the mystic atmosphere of the Black
Forest, Germany, Coltaine transport their intuitive
creations into unusually exciting and diverse
microcosms of dark, atmospheric psychedelia whose
feeling is that of foggy, post metal-tinged acid rock
with the sombre hues of blackgaze.
Their newest offering ”Forgotten Ways” gives the
listener immediate access to an unreal world where
the endlessness of life and death come alive within
songs that blend complete obscurity with the hopeful
lights of pure spiritual energy.
With a personal sound that defies all categorizations,
Coltaine are ready to embark on a quest across the
deep, misty realms of their own musical craft.

Laut. Rotzig. Heavy. Obendrauf noch so richtig Bock, diese Energie live auf die Bühne zu bringen und dabei ordentlich die Sau raus zu lassen. So hat die Heavy Rock Gruppe bei mehr als 80 Gigs die Herzen der Fans gewonnen – im kleinsten Club, wie auf der Festival-Mainstage.
Die drei Nordlichter setzen ihre Energie seit 2011 in der klassischen Rockformation Gitarre+Gesang (Al Robo), Bass+Gesang (Hotze) und dem 2020er-Zugang Salih an den Drums in gehörig Krach um.
Wer Schubladen bemühen will, wird mit einer nicht auskommen, denn Genremusik ist nicht das Ding der Band. Was sie „Heavy Rock“ nennen, bedient sich aus Groove- und Stoner-Metal, genauso wie Elementen des Hard Rock und Punk/Hardcore. Textlich wird deftig und kritisch mit der aktuellen Politik und Gesellschaft ins Gericht gegangen – kehlig rau gesungen und mit Screams und Growls garniert.
Die Musik der ersten Jahre war stark von Bands wie Testament und Hypocrisy geprägt. Diese Phase ist auf der 2012er EP Fuckin‘ Metal zusammengefasst, die 2017 als Doppel-EP inkl. der Bonus-EP Lost in the Tidelands neu aufgelegt wurde.
In den letzten Jahren hat sich der Einfluss von Black Sabbath, Kyuss und Clutch hörbar verstärkt, aber auch Grooviges à la Pantera darf in keinem Song fehlen.

Mass Rift is a five-piece rock band, combining groovy bass riffs and 90’s guitar sounds with hauntingly distressed yet powerful vocals and impulsive, technical drums.
They have collectively found their signature sound sitting somewhere between the intensity of 90’s grunge era bands like Soundgarden or Alice in Chains and the raw power of stoner legends like Kyuss or Fu Manchu, combined with a clearly noticeable Nu Metal influence of the early 2000’s. However, they offer something different and unique to their listeners outside of genre based thinking.
Lyrically, Mass Rift is all about the unfathomable depths of human nature, failing relationships and the crippling ironic paradoxes of life. It’s about the burden of being an imperfect human in an ever so changing world, constantly swinging between the virtues and vices of our modern society.
Mass Rift first embarked on their musical voyage together as a Band in 2017. But their origin leads back way earlier to when the band members grew up listening to a variety of different music genres such as 70’s Hard Rock, 80’s Metal and 90’s Grunge and Stoner, which all played an influential role in shaping their individual paths as musicians and ultimately led them together.
